Welcome to the LTI 1.3 Developer Guides
For more than 20 years, Turnitin has delivered products to help educators, researchers, and publishers ensure the integrity of written work in the classroom and publishing contexts. These applications are available for integration into other platforms, and in fact, that is how Turnitin’s services are most often used.
With LTI 1.3, you can deliver the value of introducing an integrity solution with grading and feedback workflows seamlessly into your platform.
Getting Started
If you haven't heard of LTI or are only just starting to develop LTI 1.3 capabilities then we aren't ready to work with you yet. Take a look at our 'New to LTI' section along with our 'Preferred Workflows' guide.
If you are a software vendor looking to test an LTI 1.3 integration you will need to fill out this integration questionnaire. We'll be in touch to help test, validate and certify your platforms LTI integration readiness for mutual customers to use.
PLEASE NOTE! The integration must not be used by mutual customers until certification is achieved. See below.
Turnitin LTI 1.3 Validation and Certification
To confirm that the workflow of your platform's LTI 1.3 implementation has the best possible customer experience for our mutual customers, Turnitin will validate your integration by going through the steps for creating an assignment/context and the user workflows in your platform. Turnitin will review the integration and provide guidance if any remedial work is required. If there are no required changes the platform/integration will be certified for customer use.
1EdTech LTI 1.3 certification is not a requirement to use Turnitin, however it would be beneficial to our mutual customers if your platform is certified. 1EdTech LTI 1.3 certification can be achieved before and in parallel with your goal of gaining Turnitin LTI 1.3 certification. Turnitin will guide you in your implementation of LTI 1.3 in your platform if any issues are discovered during validation.
